No pic today

Gained .7 pounds since last Monday. But I ran a half marathon on Saturday and PR’ed so I got that going for me, which is nice.

16.2 miles this weekend

Ran the Topeka to Auburn Half-Marathon yesterday. It was the first time for me running this race and it could not have been any nicer out. It was almost 50 degrees when the race started at 11 am. Usually it’s in the 30s or below with strong winds and one year it was even in the single digits while another time the ground was still covered with snow and ice.

This race is known for its hills and that’s no lie. Kansas is not flat by any means.

I wasn’t in as good of shape as I wanted to be but it is a good feeling that I can go and knock out 13.1 miles when 2 1/2 years ago I would have had a hard time running 1 mile. My time was 2:13:13.8, a new PR by 4 minutes.

Went for a run this evening, a 5k. Legs were tight and heavy from yesterday but I wanted to see if I could handle getting out there the day after a long race. I also want to get ready for my next half in April.

Not sure how soon my next race will be. I’m thinking about a 5-mile trail race next month north of Manhattan. There’s a 10k in Manhattan on March 16th that I’m planning on running. Years prior I’ve run the 2-mile race. I’m excited for that one.
